Mitch Jacobs is Founder of On Deck Capital, the leading financing network for small businesses unable to qualify for traditional loans. Recognized as one of the nation's leading entrepreneurs in the financial services industry, Jacobs sold his two previous payment-processing startups to public companies. He has emerged as an expert voice on small business, particularly in the highly fragmented sub-five-million dollar sector.
Previously, Jacobs was the Chief Strategy Officer of Comdata Processing Systems, a leading provider of secured payment transactions. He joined Comdata (NYSE: CEN) upon their acquisition of Tranvia, Inc. the credit card processing company of which he was the Founder and CEO. Prior to founding Tranvia, Jacobs was Vice President of Product Management at Student Advantage (NASDAQ: STAD), the nation's leading provider of media and transaction services to universities. Jacobs joined Student Advantage after their acquisition of his first company, Transaction Service Providers, Inc., a small business solution that provided stored value services to on- and off-campus merchants at leading universities around the country.
Jacobs holds a Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College. He and his wife, Samantha Ettus, reside in New York City with their two daughters.
Dr. Alan S. Blinder is Vice Chairman of the Promontory Interfinancial Network. He is also the Gordon S. Rentschler Memorial Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University and Director of Princeton's Center for Economic Policy Studies, which he founded in 1990.
Dr. Blinder served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from June 1994 until January 1996. In this position, he was a member of the Board's committees on Bank Supervision and Regulation, Consumer and Community Affairs, and Derivative Instruments. Before becoming a member of the Board of Governors, Dr. Blinder served as a Member of President Clinton's original Council of Economic Advisers. During the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns, he served as an economic adviser to Al Gore and John Kerry.
Dr. Blinder is the author or co-author of 17 books and has written scores of scholarly articles on such topics as fiscal policy, monetary policy, and the distribution of income. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bretton Woods Committee, and the Bellagio Group, a former governor of the American Stock Exchange, and has been elected to the American Philosophical Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Blinder holds an A.B. from Princeton University, a M.Sc. from London School of Economics, and a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Matt Harris is the Co-founder and Managing General Partner of Village Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm with $150 million under management.
Before founding Village Ventures, Harris was the founding Managing Director of The Berkshires Capital Investors, a venture capital fund associated with Williams College. Under Harris's leadership, BCI's first fund of $5 million invested in 12 companies, with eight successful exits to date. Harris began his career as a consultant at Bain & Company where his most notable transactions included the $1.1 billion purchase and subsequent sale of a credit-reporting agency, and the $90 million purchase of a medical products distributor.
In addition to On Deck Capital, Harris sits on the corporate boards of Bluetarp Financial, Swift Financial, Vico Software, TxCore, Inc. and LTSave, Inc. Harris has served as Chair of Mass Competitive Council for Berkshire County, an economic development initiative sponsored by the governor of Massachusetts, and serves as a Board Member of the John Adams Innovation Institute and a member of the Renewable Energy Industry Support Advisory Board. Harris is a Trustee for the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He is the President of the Board of the Williamstown Theatre Festival and a founding Board Member and Treasurer of Camp Starfish, a camp for troubled and disadvantaged youth outside Boston, Massachusetts.
Harris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College.
James Robinson III is a General Partner and Co-Founder of RRE Ventures, a private information technology venture investment firm, and President of J.D. Robinson, Inc., a strategic consulting firm.
Robinson was Chairman and CEO of American Express Company from 1977 until his retirement from the company in 1993. Previously, Robinson held several executive positions within American Express and was a General Partner with White Weld & Co. He also served as Assistant to the Chairman and President of Morgan Guaranty Trust Company.
In addition to On Deck Capital, Robinson serves on the Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company, PrimeRevenue, and Revolution Money. He is also Honorary Chairman of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, an Honorary Trustee of the Brookings Institution, and Chairman Emeritus of the Partnership for New York City and the World Travel and Tourism Council. Robinson served as Co-Chairman of the Business Roundtable and as Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations.
Robinson holds an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Prior to joining On Deck, Brad Kime was President of a $3 billion dollar Commercial Banking Division of Irwin Financial Corporation. Irwin Financial's Commercial Banking group focused on privately owned businesses with revenues of less than $50 million as its target market. He managed the entire commercial banking operation of the company to include 650 people within the Corporation.This entity was named one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce in 2006 and 2007 under his leadership. Kime has an undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a current Board member of Operation Hope Northeastern Board of Directors, a leading financial literacy group in the country and former Board member of the Indiana Bankers Association and Indiana State Chamber of Commerce.
David Hartwig is Managing Director of SAP Ventures, an independent venture capital firm that has invested in over 100 companies, including LinkedIn, Webex, MySQL and Red Hat Software.
Prior to joining SAP Ventures, Hartwig was a vice president within American Capital's Technology Group, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and leading investments in early to late stage private companies across a variety of technology market segments. Before joining American Capital, Hartwig was a senior associate with Battery Ventures, working as a member of the company's communications group. While at Battery, he worked on data-center, software, and components investments, including investments in Advanced Analogic Technologies [AATI] and Sigmatel [SGTL]. Hartwig also worked at Deloitte Consulting, where he primarily managed enterprise software and call-center technology integration projects. He received an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a BSE with honors from Princeton University.
Hartwig is a board observer at Datria, Payscale, Ping Identity, Qumu, and Tremor Media. He led the investment in and was a board observer at Greenplum (acq. by EMC) and managed the investment in Ops Technology (acq. by RealPage). He evaluates investment opportunities in on demand applications and technology enabled services, data-center technology, and digital media. He also leads SAP Ventures' activities in China.
Neil Wolfson is President of SF Capital Group. In that capacity he oversees asset allocation, investment management and operations. Prior to joining SF Capital Group, Neil spent five years as Chief Investment Officer and President of Wilmington Trust Investment Management, a $40 billion investment management firm. He was also President and CEO of the Wilmington Funds, a $10 billion mutual fund family. Prior to Wilmington Trust, Neil served for eight years as a Partner at KPMG LLP and National Partner in Charge of KPMG’s Investment Consulting Practice. Neil also spent over a decade at Kidder, Peabody & Co. where he ran the managed money area, founded the Analytical Investment Strategies Group, was a senior portfolio manager for Kidder Peabody Asset Management and ran the firm’s PRIME Asset Consulting Group. Prior to Kidder, he developed a multi-factor security selection system currently employed by a number of investment management firms. He started his career developing financial futures and options contracts for a commodity exchange.
Neil holds an MBA in Finance and a BS in Management from New York University where he graduated magna cum laude and received NYU’s Dean’s Honor Key. He was a University Honors Scholar, having graduated in the top five percent of his class. He holds FINRA series 7, 63 and 65 licenses. A member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, he became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1993.
