Position: Learning & Development Director

Location: New York, NY

Position Overview:

This position will be focused on developing comprehensive learning and development strategies and implementation plans for all staff at On Deck. This includes the delivery and implementation of all training initiatives across the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses organizational training needs and creates a prioritized plan for meeting these organizational learning and development needs and largest gap areas.
  • Designs and delivers specific training curriculum in conjunction with related line managers.
  • Creates a “University” for On Deck that combines E-learning, classroom training and on the job formal processes.
  • Identifies, selects and presides over learning management software system for implementation of training initiatives.
  • Develops and meets organizational goals related to X amount of training received per employee on an annual basis.
  • Leads development of organizational meetings and assists in ongoing staff communication initiatives.
  • Develops return on investment metrics for learning and development initiatives beyond hours attended to assess effectiveness.
  • Assists in broader organizational development initiatives of senior resources within the Company.

Experience Requirements: 

  • 8+ years of experience in learning and development in a corporate environment with an emphasis on building a training infrastructure in an entrepreneurial company.
  • Adept in “adult” learning processes.
  • Experience preferred in financial services but not required.
  • Strong project management skills necessary.
  • Energized by entrepreneurial environment.
  • Hands on leader but also doer of various project plans and related tasks.
  • Previous success in building organizational capabilities and processes.
  • Strong business mind, persistent and resilient.

Position: Inside Sales Representative

Location: New York, NY

Position Overview: 

This position requires quick thinking, hard work, and a sales mindset that is sympathetic to the concerns and issues facing small business owners. Successful candidates will contact prospects to identify, quantify, and pursue new business opportunities with the goal of obtaining qualified applicants for our financial products. 

In addition, the candidate will field inbound calls and email requests. The candidate will also assist in the implementation and promotion of various sales and marketing campaigns. Position: Account Manager

Summary:  

The Account Manager will be responsible for contacting prospects to identify, quantify, and pursue new business opportunities with the goal of obtaining qualified applicants for our financial products.  This position requires creative thinking, hard work, and a sales mindset that is sympathetic to the concerns and issues facing small business owners.  In addition, this position will place outbound calls, field inbound calls and emails as well as manage partner relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Build intimate knowledge of new partners and referral sources for potential lending transactions for On Deck. 
  • Manage partner relationships through relationship management, account review and increasing loan volumes over time.
  • Gain knowledge of lending process at On Deck to gain product and process knowledge as well as facilitate targeting with partners. 
  • Contact end customers of all transactions to also build end customer relationship in conjunction with partner efforts. 
  • Generate, identify and qualify potential prospects.
  • Cold call and actively cultivate prospects to stimulate interest in On Deck’s solutions

The role involves leading an engineering team responsible for building systems to aggregate new sources of small business data that will help us finance small businesses and create jobs around the country. You will also be responsible for leading the design and implementation of On Deck's Enterprise Data Warehouse and business intelligence platform.

We are looking for a Technical lead with a solid CS grounding to work on multi-tiered systems utilizing Java, Data Warehousing tools, Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL databases and various open source solutions like Hibernate and Spring.

The Focus of This Role is to:

  • Lead the development of a flexible architecture to support a large number of data sources
  • Build a framework that allows for the fast implementation of screen scraping scripts
  • Lead the design and development of a data warehousing infrastructure
  • Manage a small engineering team

Qualifications:

Position: Data Warehouse Engineer

Summary:

As a Data Warehouse Engineer (DWE) you will build On Deck's Big Data infrastructure. You will work closely with our product group on the design and implementation of interesting projects focused on data aggregation from multiple sources, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytics. The DWE will be responsible for the migration of our legacy data warehouse into our enterprise class Data Warehouse, development of ETL processes, and ensuring that the data warehouse processes are running optimally.

The DWE will be part of a team that uses an agile iterative development approach. You will work closely with a talented and friendly team of technology professionals, and create great software that helps small business owners every day.

The Focus of This Role is to:

  • Design and support the database and table schemas for new and evolving sources of data brought into the data warehouse
  • Build efficient, flexible, extensible, and scalable ETL processes and mappings
  • Analyze technology options and design techniques across the data warehouse life cycle phases
  • Build our Business Intelligence and Analytics platform

Position: Production Support Engineer

Location: New York, NY

Summary:

As a Production Support Engineer behind On Deck’s platform, you will become an expert in On Deck’s loan servicing platform, data warehouse, aggregation systems and portals.  You will be responsible for monitoring the quality of our customer applications and internal tools and respond to end-user support requests.

The production support engineer is like the primary care physician for our platform, the first one to notice a problem, the first one to receive a complaint and maintain ownership of the problem until it is resolved.  Just like a primary care doctor, you will have a chance to work with specialists, as our small, talented, and friendly team of technology professionals who are creating the software are going to be collaborating with you closely.

Your Day-to-Day Tasks Will Be:

  • Monitor the successful completion of our daily batch and data warehouse jobs
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for internal clients regarding application issues or questions
  • Perform in-depth research and find the root cause of production issues
  • Generate and automate weekly and monthly third party reports
  • Build new scripts and use existing scripts for data correction, data integrity validation and error notifications
  • Participate in the reconciliation process of multiple funding sources

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a production support role
  • Ability to prioritize workload, providing timely and accurate resolutions
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
